Many Brazilian surfers consider Silveira to be the country's best wave — a true rock-bottom right-hand point break that wraps around a grassy headland between two forested ridges in the town of Garopaba, Santa Catarina. The wave breaks over cobblestone rocks and boulders, delivering long, hollow walls when southeast to south swells in the 3-to-10-foot range light up the point. Offshore west-northwest winds groom the face, and the spot picks up swell roughly 150 days per year, making it one of Brazil's most consistent breaks.
