Punta Mita surfing

Punta Mita

La Lancha is Punta Mita's most consistent surf break, a secluded beach reached only via a 7-10 minute jungle trail that opens onto white sand and turquoise water with no vendors or facilities in sight. The break offers multiple peaks: a mellow sandbar section perfect for beginners, a longer right over rock bottom ideal for intermediates and longboarders, and a faster left with submerged boulders near the takeoff for more advanced surfers. Despite facing southwest, winter is the most reliable season with northwest swells wrapping in, though summer can still produce fun days. The diverse peaks and relatively uncrowded lineup make it one of the Riviera Nayarit's best all-around surf spots, and it is the primary location for surf schools in the Punta Mita area. Bring water and supplies as the beach is completely undeveloped.
