Beach break with a blend of tropical calm and Atlantic power.

Praia do Campeche in Florianópolis features two distinct zones: Pico, a friendly sandbar producing long, clean right-handers sometimes compared to J-Bay, and Riozinho, a super-hollow, fast river-mouth peak for experienced surfers only. On powerful south swells these sections connect to form the famous Campeche Rights, running 300-500 meters of linked-up walls and barrels. Best conditions come with south swells and northwest offshore winds, with winter (especially May) delivering the most consistent surf — Pico works from just 1.5 feet while Riozinho fires in the 3-8 foot range. Strong rip currents are a real hazard here, so respect the ocean even on smaller days. The beach stretches for several kilometres with a relaxed surf culture, surf schools, and the option to boat over to nearby Campeche Island.
