Ericeira, Portugal
Ribeira d'Ilhas is widely regarded as one of Europe's finest right-hand point breaks and is the crown jewel of the Ericeira World Surfing Reserve. The wave peels over a rock bottom for up to 275 metres on clean west-northwest swells in the 4-to-6-foot range, though it is rideable from knee-high to double overhead and works at virtually all tides, with mid tide being optimal. Southeast winds are ideal for keeping the face groomed. The break's exceptional consistency and quality earned it a regular slot on the WSL Challenger Series schedule, so expect a high standard and sizeable crowd in the lineup. Access is straightforward via a path down the cliffs into the bay.
