Remote paradise known for epic tubes and lush scenery.

G-Land (Grajagan) is one of the world's premier left-hand reef breaks, located in Alas Purwo National Park on the southeastern tip of Java, Indonesia. A half-kilometre stretch of shallow coral reef produces four distinct sections — Kongs, Money Trees, Launch Pads, and Speedies — each with its own character, from long walling rides to tight, ledging barrels over dangerously shallow reef. The wave is powered by a 10,000-foot deep ocean drop-off combined with the peninsula's exposure to the full force of Indian Ocean swells, producing consistent 4-to-8-foot surf with occasional 10-to-12-foot days. The prime season runs from April to September when offshore easterly winds groom the faces and Indian Ocean winter storms generate reliable groundswells. G-Land is strictly for experienced surfers — the powerful, hollow waves, sharp reef, and remote jungle location demand skill and preparation. Access is typically by boat charter from Bali, with several surf camps operating along the bay providing accommodation and transfers.
