Baja's World Surfing Reserve with big-wave Killers and mellow beach breaks

Todos Santos is a World Surfing Reserve on Baja's Pacific coast, anchored by the legendary big-wave spot Killers at Isla Todos Santos and the more accessible beach breaks of San Pedrito and La Pastora on the mainland. Winter NW-to-W swells generated by North Pacific storms deliver the most consistent surf from October through April, with January being the prime month. San Pedrito works best on a WSW groundswell with NE offshore winds, while Killers can hold waves up to 60 feet on large W-NW swells. Tides matter: mid-to-high tide cleans up the beach breaks, while Killers needs careful timing on the rocky reef. Hazards include strong currents, shallow rock shelves at reef spots, and the remote boat-access-only nature of Killers. Water temps range from 20-23C in winter to 26-30C in summer, so boardshorts work most of the year with a thin spring suit needed on cold winter mornings.
