October is when Europe's surf season hits its stride, with Portugal, France, and Morocco picking up consistent North Atlantic swell alongside strong Pacific conditions.
October is the beginning of peak season for Europe's Atlantic coast. Ericeira, Hossegor, and Morocco all start seeing regular groundswell from North Atlantic storms. It's also still very much alive on the Pacific, with Mexico and Central America catching the last reliable swells of the season. For surfers who prefer European travel, October through December is the window. Crowds are thinner than summer, prices are lower, and the swell is more consistent.
