Viti Levu, Fiji
Natadola Beach on the western coast of Viti Levu is an exposed beach and reef break offering both lefts and rights, with the quality left-hand reef section being the standout wave. On smaller swells, the reef produces zippy, barreling lefts, while bigger south swells create chunky, powerful walls that break for up to 100 metres over coral. The spot works best on mid-to-high tide with east-northeast offshore winds, receiving clean groundswells primarily from the south, with autumn — particularly April — delivering the most consistent conditions. Water temperatures hover between 24 and 27 degrees C year-round. The wave is best suited for intermediate to advanced surfers due to the shallow coral reef bottom, though there is also a mellower inside reef peak suitable for longboarding. Unlike many of Fiji's famous breaks that require boat access, Natadola is accessible directly from the beach, making it a convenient option for surfers based on the main island.
